I have been gluten free since the beginning of this year and have just given up breads, baked goods and pastas altogether because I didn’t know how to use gluten free flours. I would love to learn how to use these specialty flours.

I have had a severe sensitivity to gluten for the past few years. Baking is 1 of my all time favorite things, and unfortunately I’ve lost some of that passion since I can’t eat anything anymore, and have had many bad attempts at GF baking. I would love to bake things that I, along with the rest of my family, can enjoy. These books would be wonderful!

I have one dd with extreme food allergies. I am always on the lookout for good gluten free resources. We have begun to experiment more with baking, and finding recipes she enjoys that are good for her. She would love to open a gf bakery someday
Her dream at almost 12

In our family, more and more of us are realizing we have significant issues with certain kinds of ingredients. We have four grown children and ten grandchildren, and the sensitivities to food ingredients amazes all of us. We have all become aware that we need to avoid certain “offenders” but it’s often difficult to find suitable substitutions so we can enjoy family favorites again! These books are a great resource!

I already have these two cookbooks on my “wish list” on Amazon. . . It seems they would take the difficulty out of baking gluten-free when they explain how/when/why, etc. to use all the different flours.
[Reply]
You know what I’m REALLY hoping (besides winning a book, of course) is that these books give a COMPLETE list of ingredients that one SHOULD have on hand for gluten-free baking… AND ALSO maybe some storage suggestions! I can’t tell you how many different size little bags of flour and additives that I have stored in containers in my (cold) pantry. I’ve read that you should store these in the fridge. There is no way all those things would fit in mine! Anyway, I hope I win whether I get answers to these questions or not.

Not only did I post both books on Pinterest, but now I’m following some of your boards, too.

What intrigues me about these books is that at last there are recipes that I can make baked goods with. Some of the the gluten free commercial foods are not always the best choices. These books show that we just need to know our way around some new (old) flours.
Being able to prepare baked items that are tasty also helps remove the stigma of being “the one” The gluten free one, the one that’s always different, the one that can have that or this either…I would love to have these.

What I would love to learn from these books
is how to bake with different flours, how to
sub them for other choises. This intrigues me,

I would really love these books b/c I just recently started going gluten-free (and feel a lot better by the way) and my fiance is gluten free too. I have always loved baking, but now that I have to bake gluten free it’s more difficult. I have tried to substitute different flours and such but these books would really help make the transition better!

What intrigues me about this books is the ability to learn how to bake with each of these flours based on their innate properties and discovering which one(s) work better for different baking projects. I currently stick with a few common flours because the learning curve for using the other types of flours is fairly high. I would love to be able to use all gluten free flours with more confidence that my baking projects won’t flop because I’m using the best ones for the item I’m making.

[Reply]
Before my girls went gluten free I was not a great baker, I had a few recipes I made all the time and well. I had just mastered bread only to find out they couldn’t have bread. The primary issue I have with most GF recipes is that they call for Rice Flour and I don’t want to use rice flour (trying grain free) so knowing how to sub GF flours would be awesome. If I had a choice I would select Part1 and then if it worked I would purchase Part 2.

What intrigues me about your books is all the different flours that you use. I have been GF for years now, and didn’t really bake at all until I had kids and they want sweets all the time. (they are not GF). I want to bake yummy things that I can eat, too! I am also dairy free and require low glycemic foods, so having a cook book that would give me those resources sounds FABULOUS to me!! Thanks for the opportunity to win one of your books!
